My name is Deanna, and I am the face behind The Detailed Traveler. I love traveling with my husband Devan and our best girl Rosie. Consequently, both will make appearances in many of my photos. (I hope you like dogs!) My entire life has been centered around food, travel and tourism. From growing up on Long Island with my classic Italian family, my 10+ years of travel experience and my career in baking and pastry, I promise a wealth of information on exceptional food and exciting experiences.
Around friends and family, I’ve established myself as their go to travel advisor. Notably, I even considered a career shift to a full time travel agent. But never the less, I decided to keep this passion as a hobby and not a full time career; and boy am I glad I did, because that’s how we ended up here! Hence, The Detailed Traveler is born. I created this blog out of my passion and with the hope that fellow travel enthusiasts, just like you, would experience the best of what a destination has to offer with minimal effort.
You’ll find my blog filled with all of my favorite recommendations for a variety of different cities and destinations.
My itineraries are focused on 3 core subjects:
- FOOD. It’s all about the best sweets and must eats. Nothing is more memorable than an unforgettable meal.
- ADVENTURE. Every destination offers thrilling adventures that are just waiting to be experienced.
- SCENERY. My favorite part of traveling is seeing the unique and beautiful landscapes each destination has to offer.

My goal, and the purpose of this blog, is really just to make your life easier! I’ve researched the hotels, the restaurants, conferred with locals, and even been a local myself, all so that I can provide you with the best recommendations.
